About Us
and what to expect when you visit us.
A typical dance night:-
Soft lighting, comfortable seating and a licensed bar greet the dancers when they enter the fabulous ballroom.
As they enter the ballroom visitors are given information about joining the club. They can dance at our Wednesday nights six times before joining our section but they do need to be signed in at the reception desk in the foyer.
One of our music presenters will be playing cds or it might be someone on the keyboard.
The dances are usually played in twos and throughout the evening there is a varied programme of ballroom dances e.g. Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz and latin dances e.g. Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and perhaps a Paso Doble. These dances are interspersed with some sequence dances such as a Mayfair Quickstep, Rumba one, 42nd Street Swing, Mambo Magic and Square Tango. The sequence dances are no more than 20% of the dances as we are not a sequence dance section.
Halfway through the evening there is a raffle and we have a rota for people buying the prizes so that we have a good variety of prizes throughout the year. We also have a membership draw for a snowball that currently increase by £5-00p each week it is unclaimed, if a member is fortunate to be drawn they must present their current membership card to win.
